Junior High Final Exam Information

Dear Parents/Guardians of Junior High Students,

June has arrived and the beginning of Final Exam sessions will be approaching soon. Below is some information around final exams for Junior High Students for this school year.

Grade 7 and 8 French Immersion Students will be writing their FLA Final Exam on Tuesday June 20th beginning at 12:45 in the gymnasium. After they have finished this exam, they will return to regular classes.

  • The last day of regular classes for all Junior High students is Wednesday June 21st, 2017. There are Junior High Awards this day beginning at 9:00 am, a BBQ for junior high students at lunch, Canada 150/Aboriginal activities after lunch and locker clean up at different parts of the day.  Due to construction, students will be asked to bring everything they can home on the 21st and then just bring what they need in backpacks on the days of their exams.

  • Beginning on June 22nd, final exams will begin for the grades 7 and 8’s. The grade 9 PATs begin on June 23rd.

  • The grade 7 and 8 students write all of their exams in the afternoon beginning at 12:45. Students should be ready for entrance into the gymnasium for their exam by 12:35. In the mornings on exam days, study rooms will be set up for students to study with their classmates and an assigned staff member. If a parent wishes to keep their child home for the morning before their final exam, they are asked notify the school office.

  • The grade 9 students write all of their PATs in the morning beginning at 9:00am. Students should be ready for entrance into the gymnasium for their exams by 8:45.  After their exams are done in the mornings and for the remainder of the day, study rooms will be set up for students to study with their classmates and an assigned staff member. If a parent wishes for their child to leave the school after their exam, they are asked to notify the school office with a signed note or an email.

  • Lunch will run each exam day from 12:00 to 12:45.

  • The library will be closed during this time. All students who are in the building and not writing an exam will be directed to one of the study rooms provided.
