COVID-19 Update
Posted: November 1, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians of Glenmary School,
We were informed today that we have 2 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at our school. We immediately started our contact tracing process and have contacted all staff and families who are close contacts of the positive individuals. Please note that transmission did not occur at school.
The safety of all students and staff is our first priority. Our administration will be contacting all parents/guardians of students, as well as any staff/visitors/volunteers who may have been in close contact with the individuals. Out of respect for the individuals, and in accordance with Alberta Health Services guidelines, no further information will be shared about these cases. We wish the individuals a safe and speedy recovery, and we will work closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff.
We remind families to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using the Alberta Health Screening Questionnaire. Please note that the new checklist comes into effect tomorrow. Please remember to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school. If you or a member of your family has any of the symptoms of illness listed, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.
The health and safety of our staff, students and community remains our first priority. We know this news can be distressing for families and supports are available. Please be assured we will work closely with Alberta Health Services to ensure we follow their ongoing recommendations.
We will continue to provide additional information to parents and guardians as it is available.
Sincerely,
David Amiot
Principal
