Grades 7-10 Temporarily Transitioning Online

  Posted: March 7, 2021

To the Parents and Guardians of Glenmary School,

We are making an additional temporary change to our education delivery model for grade 10 classes. Effective Monday, March 8th, all classes for grades 7 to 10 will transition to online learning, and in person classes will resume on Thursday, March 18th. Grades 11 and 12 classes will continue to be delivered in person at school. Any students in grades 11 or 12 who are isolating will be provided with at-home learning.

Over the weekend, we were notified of two additional positive cases in our school in grade 7 and grade 8. All close contacts have been notified. This temporary transition will allow staff members to complete their required isolation at home, and would allow students to continue their learning online with their regular teachers.

All grades 7-10 students will be contacted by their teacher to begin at-home learning. The delivery methods for at-home learning will be at the discretion of each individual teacher, and all Junior High classes will be delivered asynchronously.

Additionally, Chromebooks are available for at-home learners upon request. We will make arrangements for Chromebooks to be available tomorrow. To obtain your child’s belongings, please call the school. We require a minimum of one hour of notice before their items can be picked up. Lastly, as a precaution, all practices for sports are suspended until Thursday March 18th.

Thank you to our school community for your outstanding flexibility and support.

God bless,

Betty Turpin, Superintendent and David Amiot, Principal of Glenmary School
