Glenmary School is proud to host the on Friday. The Tournament will include eleven elementary and junior high teams from schools across the division. Each year, students from across the division form teams and compete in this day-long tournament hosted by an HFCRD school. This year, we are very fortunate to have Dennis Whitford as our Elder, Aidan Goodswimmer from Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation drumming at the event and Mathias Laboucan-Washburn as the emcee.
“Our school is very pleased to host this year’s Hand Games Tournament and invite our community to see this traditional First Nations game,” said Glenmary School Principal Victoria Cornick. “This event is a wonderful celebration that gives students the opportunity to learn more about First Nations culture. Students and staff are very excited to participate!”
